At this time Malenky Production is only renting equipment out to our partners and long term customers. We require all rentals to put down a deposit and provide proof of rental insurance before picking up equipment.
Insurance Providers:
Large Condenser Mics: This style is highly sensitive and ideal for recording in a quiet space
Ribbon Mics: These are highly detailed while remaining isolated from room noise; they "hear like your ears” for an honest and accurate sound
Dynamic Mics: This type is less sensitive but excellent at isolating background noise
Ambisonic: These mics record audio in multiple directions and can be used to create mono, stereo, 5.1 surround, 7.1 surround, or spatial audio files. This style is most commonly used to record environmental sound (not particualy good for dialoguel.
Proximity Effect: Live event mics have a much lower proximity effect than our studio and cinema mics. The proximity effect is an increase in bass or low-frequency response when close to a microphone.

The audio for most films is produced at 48KHz / 24-bit, but recording at a higher rate can be useful if there is a need to edit it in post-production
32-bit recording will not distort or clip audio when capturing sounds, even when the volume goes above 0dB
Higher dynamic ranges will help prevent bright areas from being washed out and dark areas from being underexposed. A high dynamic range camera is particularly useful when filming a person inside and in front of a very bright window
Filming in a resolution higher than your desired final resolution will allow the image to be stabilized or cropped differently in post-production.
